About me
Alex Tilling, The Dorset Wine Lover
At times irreverent, at times geeky, this is a chronical of my wine life. For nearly 2 decades I have worked in the wine industry, starting as a humble ‘cellar rat’ in Bordeaux and then South Africa, before moving back to the UK where I plied my trade selling premium wines to restaurants before eventually becoming the brand manager for Champagne Louis Roederer, hosting regular tastings, events and dinners around the country.
Much of those two decades were spend studying – I obtained the WSET diploma in 2010, won the Wine Australia Young Wine Writer of the Year in 2012, passed the Master of Wine theory exams in 2013, and became a WSET educator in 2016. Now it is all about the pleasure!
So this is me, sharing my wine stories. Through this blog, and through tastings where we can get down and dirty with the wines together.
